While the Grand Canyon is a world renowned natural marvel, you never know how you might feel upon experiencing such an iconic sight. I had heard all my life how breathtaking it is and finally I was going to devour it with my eyes... well, or so I thought.

Arriving in the winter, it's about a 50/50 chance you will see nothing but white. It can be at times completely fogged over and so I was hoping for clear skies. The morning we arrived it was a bit rainy and cloudy on the way in on the train.

As we boarded a bus to the first stop, the edge opened into a pure white wall. Oh no! As I trailed the edge though, the immensity of what hid behind the clouds was palpable. There was a sense of the vastness and beauty even though it was as if you were looking at it blind.

The other senses took over and I could feel the beauty. At the last stop as I was eager along the edge, wind started to pick up and there was about a 15 minute time frame at which the clouds revealed what I was feeling. It was everything I was feeling. Beautiful, magical, incredible. Lesson? What you can't see, you can feel. #ExpandYourVision
